In the Black Country terraces and semis we assess most often, the order is nearly always the same: loft insulation top-up, full LED lighting, hot water cylinder jacket, heating controls, then cavity wall insulation where the wall construction allows it. Solid wall insulation and solar move the score a long way but rarely pay back quickly. Do the cheap items first, then have the property reassessed — the recommendations report on your existing certificate already ranks them for your specific property.
